insurance feature Vying for I RACQ members can save on their car insurance. STORY BELINDA PETERS n the current economic climate, seeking value for money for even your most essential bills is becoming increasingly important. Car insurance is one area you can’t risk doing without, but that doesn’t mean you have to pay too much. Protecting your motor vehicle with RACQ Insurance (RACQI) ensures that your wallet is looked after too, with a range of additional benefi ts and discounts available that offer signifi cant savings. RACQI general manager, sales and product, Chris Walsh, said that premium discounts on motoring insurance were available to all RACQ members. “RACQ members enjoy loyalty discounts on a range of RACQ general insurance products, with the savings increasing the longer you’re a member,” Mr Walsh said. “The RACQ Insurance discounts for motor vehicle insurance start at 2.5 percent for Blue card holders (up to fi ve years membership) and move up to 15 percent discount for Gold 50 (50 plus years RACQ membership) card holders. “But there are plenty of other ways to enjoy even greater savings. “Discounts also apply when two or more motor vehicles are insured under a single policy. “Plus, policy-holders with three or more policies with RACQI receive a 5 percent discount off each premium. This multi-policy discount applies to any three combinations of RACQ Insurance policies, except compulsory third party (CTP) insurance.” Mr Walsh said RACQI’s no claim bonuses could also help customers save and those who’ve held their Rating 1 for some time could qualify for additional savings through the Driver Excellence Bonus. This bonus offers additional discounts for Rating 1 holders, depending on how long they have held a Rating 1 with either RACQI or another insurer. “We believe that good drivers should be rewarded and so we created the Driver Excellence Bonus to give Rating 1 holders the chance to translate their good driving record into real savings on their comprehensive motor vehicle premium,” Mr Walsh said. “Those who have held a Rating 1 continuously for fi ve to nine years are eligible for an additional 5 percent discount on their premium. Those who have held Rating 1 continuously for 10 years or more are eligible for an extra 10 percent discount.” In addition to these discounts, RACQI also offers a ‘pay by the month’ option which is one of the cheapest on the market. With a fee of $48, equating to just $4 per month, making paying for your insurance even easier. “RACQI aims to offer a quality comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy at a low cost to customers,” Mr Walsh said. “Pay by the month is a very good way to break your insurance down into more manageable monthly payments to help keep your bills under control.” If you would like further information regarding any RACQI products and the benefi ts available to members, please call 13 1905, drop into your local RACQ branch, or visit www.racqinsurance.com.au.
