RICHARD PIETSCH, RACQ PRESIDENT RACQ INSURANCE RACQ WILL RESUME full ownership of RACQ Insurance for the first time since 1995, following joint venture partner Suncorp's recent decision to withdraw from the partnership. The RACQ and Suncorp have worked effectively as joint venture insurance partners, but a new era is before us and the Club now looks forward to working through the transition phase. As a strong and respected Queensland organisation, the RACQ Group will always do what is best for its members and customers. The RACQ Board wants to reassure members and customers that the change in ownership of the insurance company and the many related issues that come with it will be managed by a team of experts from within RACQ and RACQ Insurance to ensure that Suncorp's exit from the joint venture is smooth. Importantly, it will be 'business as usual' for our Club members and insurance customers, who can continue to expect high standards of service from both RACQ and RACQ Insurance. RACQ founded its insurance company in 1970 to provide Queenslanders with more choice when it came to insurance cover, as well as competitive premiums and quality service. These are values which we continue to hold today. One of the strengths of both the Club and its insurance company is our strong Queensland focus and a commitment to serving Queenslanders well. We believe we do this better than anyone else. Queensland is a big, diverse state, and the RACQ is pleased to have people on the ground at key locations in both metropolitan and regional areas. This is part of our service commitment. RACQ members receive a range of benefits when they take out policies with RACQ Insurance. These benefits include loyalty discounts ranging up to 17.5 percent, depending on the length of your membership, and other incentives. As always, the primary focus of the Club and its insurance company will be on its loyal members and customers.
