The Road Ahead : December January 2008
Online magazine Early next year, we'll be offering members the oppor tunity to swap to an electronic version of The Road Ahead. We've been monitoring member interest in online deliver y for a few years, and we've reached the point where both reader demand and the available technology are at an appropriate level for us to make it happen. Those interested in an electronic version, rather than a hard copy, will be able to register online to change deliver y modes. Then, each edition, they will receive an email with a link to an online version, which can be easily downloaded and viewed on their own computer. The electronic version will be user-friendly, regardless of whether you have broadband internet or dial-up. Based on our research, we understand that most members will still prefer to receive the traditional hard copy of the magazine through the mail. So, we will continue to produce the magazine in the same format as we do now. Ultimately, the choice will be yours. Keep an eye out for the special offer in one of our editions early next year, so you can opt to move to an e-Road Ahead, if that's your preference. With the hard copy magazine, RACQ has a 'one magazine per household' policy. Where there is more than one member in a household, the RACQ database is set up to automatically send The Road Ahead to the longest ser ving member. d Sometimes, though, households get more than one copy. Here are some reasons why this could be the case: • Another member in the household has requested their own magazine. • The surnames are different. • The addresses are recorded a little differently for each person. • One member may have the magazine addressed to a residence and another to a post box. If your household receives more than one magazine and you'd like to correct that, please call RACQ on 13 1905 or The Road Ahead on d 3872 8653 and we'll make the change. Thanks to all the members who took par t in our recent readership research. It's pleasing to see that, amongst other things, nine out of ever y 10 members read the magazine and the vast majority like the redesign of The Road Ahead f introduced this year. "... we'll be offering members the opportunity to swap to an electronic version ..."
