ROADAHEAD.COM.AU THE ROAD AHEAD OCT/NOV 2012 24 LIFESTYLE ROAD AHEAD LIFESTYLE REDESIGN MORE THAN A million RACQ members are already enjoying the broad range of content published in The Road Ahead and its online counterpart, Road Ahead Lifestyle. Soon it will be even easier to obtain your daily dose of entertaining and informative online editorial with the Road Ahead Lifestyle website undergoing an extensive upgrade to improve the reader experience. One of the many improvements made to the website is a responsive layout, which means the layout of the site automatically adjusts to suit the screen size being used by the reader, whether it's on a PC, tablet or smartphone. RACQ Executive Manager Publishing Jim Mathers said the purpose of the redesign was to not only enhance the readability and interactivity of the website, but to also increase functionality, such as enabling readers to share content on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. "The upgraded Road Ahead website has a refreshed design, with the cleaner looking pages further improving readability, as well as an expanded menu structure that makes it even easier for users to find the specific content they want," Mr Mathers said. "Plus there's more interactivity, social media sharing opportunities and more great content linked to The Road Ahead magazine." An upgraded menu system allows readers to easily navigate around all elements of the site -- all that's needed to find the content they're looking for is a couple of clicks. On smart devices, turning the page, so to speak, is as simple as sliding a finger across the screen. In addition to the original categories of Food and Recipe, Motoring, Home and Garden, Tech and Gadgets, Outdoors, Caravanning, Wellbeing, Eco, Events and Entertainment and Travel, Road Ahead Lifestyle will include extended editorial content from The Road Ahead magazine and, in the near future, an expanded online member classifieds section. RACQ members can also get specific motoring, travel and lifestyle news delivered straight to their inboxes by signing up to have any or all of the 12 free, monthly enewsletters -- covering topics from Health and Wellbeing to Global Travel and everything in between. "It's important for us to continue to meet the diverse and growing needs of RACQ members statewide and we encourage members to provide feedback," Mr Mathers said. revamp makes website more user-friendly Whether readers prefer a PC, tablet or smartphone, the revamped Road Ahead Lifestyle website has been tailored to suit.
