The Veloster combines the style of a coupe with the practicality of a hatch and is powered by a 1.6-litre, four- cylinder GDI petrol engine. Don't be deceived by its two-door sporty appearance, the Veloster actually has three doors -- one on the driver's side and two on the passenger side. Internally, a 17.5 cm multimedia touch-screen supports a range of applications and systems, while bluetooth connectivity provides hands-free communication. The Veloster is now available from Thrifty locations in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide. RACQ members who rent from Thrifty receive member discounts on the best rate of the day, a free child seat, special offers and $5 per day off Premium and Ultimate Protection cover. racq.com/carhire TO SEE HOW YOU CAN BENEFIT WITH RACQ GO TO BEINITTOWIN Time is running out for RACQ members to win a share in more than $50,000 worth of prizes. Martin wanted his wife to have the peace of mind that he's enjoyed as an RACQ member for the past 28 years. Winning a $2000 prepaid VISA card as part of RACQ's Member Get a Member promotion was an unexpected bonus. "It was the first time I've ever won anything," Martin said. OFF ON A CRUISE As a keen restorer of cars, Robin Kup- Ferroth spends plenty of time in auto stores, particularly Repco, where as a member of RACQ he saves 10 percent. After a recent visit to Repco, Robin was automatically entered in the Show Your Card and Save competition and won a cruise with P&O. "To be honest I went to Repco to buy some things and entered the competition, but totally forgot afterwards," he said. "So when they rang to tell me I'd won (a cruise), I was surprised to say the least." Robin, a retired engineer, has been an RACQ member for more than 50 years. When he and wife Junita aren't helping out with their four grandchildren, he can be found working on his beloved collection of Jaguars. The Gold Coast couple are seasoned cruisers, having sailed the Mediterranean last year and Canada the year before. This time th h f t iht cruises to either the South Pacific Islands or North Queensland. SO, TOO, THE DALBYS Carol Dalby regularly enters RACQ competitions, but had never won. So when she entered the draw to win a cruise courtesy of RACQ Travel, she didn't have high hopes of winning. But win she did, and soon Carol will be packing her bags for a week long cruise of either the South Pacific or to North Queensland. The aged care worker from Springfield Lakes plans to take her husband Cliff on the trip, and it will be the first time either have experienced a cruise holiday. "I've often thought about going on a cruise, but I've just never had the opportunity," Carol said. Now she does.
