Called the Driver Excellence Bonus, it applies to both new and existing RACQI customers. RACQI's acting general manager, personal insurance, Michael Hurn said that the Driver Excellence Bonus offered additional discounts for Rating 1 holders, depending on how long they have held a Rating 1 with either RACQI or another insurer. "We believe that good drivers should be rewarded and have created the Driver Excellence Bonus to give Rating 1 holders the chance to translate their good driving record into real savings on their comprehensive motor vehicle premium," Mr Hurn said. "Those who have held a Rating 1 continuously for five to nine years are eligible for an additional 5 percent discount on their premium. People who have held Rating 1 continuously for 10 years or more are eligible for an additional 10 percent discount. The new bonus scheme will reward excellent drivers.
