The Road Ahead : April 2013
QUEENSLAND'S LARGEST CLUB APR/MAY 2013 THE ROAD AHEAD 65 CAR SAFE CARE Keeping children safe is the aim of a new program to be trialled this year by RACQ's Community and Education team. Car Safe Care is an hour-long presentation targeting parents and carers, highlighting issues of child safety in and around motor vehicles. The presentation has been developed in response to the high number of people requesting advice about how to fit child restraints, and studies that have shown a high number of child restraints are fitted incorrectly. In addition to addressing the how, what, where, when and who of child restraints, Car Safe Care also provides tips on how to avoid distractions when driving with children, advice on how to get in and out of a car with children and addresses the potential hazards for children inside a vehicle. The presentation also focuses on dangerous driving environments such as driveways and car parks, and provides valuable information on how parents and carers can keep their children safe in these environments. The program is free of charge. If you belong to a workplace or community group you believe would benefit from a Car Safe Care presentation, contact the RACQ Education team on 3872 8925 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
