The Road Ahead : April 2013

CHANGING FINANCIAL YEAR The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland Limited (RACQ) is changing its financial reporting year from 1 January -- 31 December to 1 July -- 30 June. The change of financial year will provide benefits, including aligning RACQ's reporting period to be consistent with the industries in which it operates, adopting the standard Australian accounting and taxation reporting period, aligning with reinsurance treaty periods, and reducing the operational complexities associated with a year end which currently falls within the Queensland storm season. To facilitate this changeover, RACQ, in accordance with Section 323D(2A) of the Corporations Act, will report against a shortened financial period from 1 January 2013 to 30 June 2013 and then commence a new financial year beginning on 1 July 2013. POSTPONEMENT TO MAY AGM RACQ would normally hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has granted RACQ relief to postpone the May AGM until October 2013 and hold only one AGM in 2013. This will allow future AGMs to be synchronised with the 30 June financial year described above. Notice of the October 2013 AGM will be provided to members as per normal methods with at least 21 days' notice. ANNUAL REPORT Despite the postponement of the May AGM the publication of the Annual Report for the year ended on 31 December 2012, including the annual financial report, Directors' report and Auditor's report will still be made available to members within the usual time frame. A copy of the Annual Report will be placed on the RACQ website at racq.com/annualreports and members who have requested and are entitled to receive a copy in accordance with the Corporations Act will be sent a copy. SUBMITTING QUESTIONS Members will have the opportunity to ask the Company or its Auditor, KPMG, any questions in relation to the Annual Report for the period ended on 31 December 2012 prior to the 2013 AGM in October. Members may submit written questions to RACQ and responses will be provided to the member who asked the question and published on the RACQ website at racq.com/annualreports. Members may submit written questions to RACQ or the Auditor by providing their name, address, membership number and question to RACQ by one of the methods below.
