RACQI executive manager product and pricing Ashley Vansleve said RACQI had reviewed its existing home product to improve the value for money it offered new and existing customers. “RACQ Insurance has re-examined its household insurance cover because we strive to provide our customers with affordable house and contents insurance that is the best in the market,” Mr Vansleve said. The new household insurance policy product disclosure statement (PDS) will be available from July 2008. Some of the new bene? ts include: • Up to $750 to cover the costs of attendance by a security ? rm to respond to a monitored alarm following an insured event. • Up to $5000 to cover contents contained in a student campus within Australia (Campus Cover). • Up to 10 percent of the contents sum insured to cover contents located in a safe deposit box at a ? nancial institution. • Up to $1000 to cover damage to your home caused by emergency services. • Up to $1000 cover for professional documents lost or damaged as a result of an insured event. • Up to $500 cover for storm damage to pool or spa covers. • Up to $200 for theft of purchased water. Mr Vansleve said all household insurance policyholders would receive a new copy of the PDS containing the full range of new policy changes with their annual policy renewal. “Please read your PDS and your certi? cate of insurance to satisfy yourself that you understand the limits of the cover, the conditions that apply and when you are not covered,” he said. Mr Vansleve reminded policyholders to keep in mind two important issues regarding home and contents insurance. “Firstly, recognise the importance of insuring your most expensive asset and don’t leave it uninsured.
