Complete the look with some cushions in a complementary colour and pattern. Another way to add some colour and create a focal point in your outdoor space is by adding an outdoor rug. Many of these are made from recycled plastics, are very durable and only require wiping over with a damp cloth to keep them clean. As far as other decorative items, you really can't beat plants to liven up a dull space -- think about varying your use of plants around the space, from hanging baskets, planter boxes to groups of various sized round pots. Lighting is an ideal way to bring a festive feel to evenings outdoors.
